Inspired by Opera House Proposal, Trump To Rename Washington State After Melania

WASHINGTON D.C. — In a chaotic fusion of pettiness, devotion, and cartographic vandalism, Donald J. Trump has signed an unofficial executive order to rename Washington State “Melania,” citing “branding inconsistencies” and “a total lack of elegance in the current name.”

The move comes just days after several Republican lawmakers proposed renaming the John F. Kennedy Center Opera House after Melania Trump, arguing she was “arguably the most statuesque First Lady to ever glance at the arts.” Trump’s renaming campaign, reportedly inspired by the opera house debate and a “surprisingly sensual” weather map of the Pacific Northwest, was launched from his Mar-a-Lago office sometime between a diet soda refill and his 2:30 a.m. Truth Social scroll.

“George Washington was great, but Melania is also great. Maybe greater,” Trump explained. “George never wore heels like that. Have you seen her heels? Tremendous.”

The state of Washington was not consulted in the process.

Confused residents reported everything from sudden GPS misfires to Alexa referring to Seattle as “the economic heart of Melania.” A viral TikTok shows a tourism rep breaking down in tears trying to explain to a group of Danish hikers that “no, it’s not a joke—it’s just American politics.”

Meanwhile, Canada has responded to the chaos by reinforcing border signs with a new disclaimer:

“You are now entering Canada. We do not do this kind of thing.”

As of now, no actual maps have been changed, but sources inside Trump’s orbit confirm he is also considering renaming Lake Michigan “Ivanka’s Mirror.”

Google Maps declined to comment, citing emotional fatigue.
